Dr. Sunil Sharma
Good morning Doctors and staff. Attached are 2 videos. The one short video is Pimp's leg before treatment. He held it up tight to his body and screamed if it was touched. He couldn't walk at all. The second video is from this morning. 2 weeks exactly since the first video. This is after antibiotics and 6 sessions of cold laser therapy. While there was significant improvement after the first session with his pain level he didn't start to truly walk until the 4th treatment. He is getting better every day. I would love for you to use our videos so others can see the wonderful results of this therapy! To give some perspective, Pimp is a 16 year old boy with hyperthyroidism and osteoarthritis. We were away on vacation and when we came home, he was suddenly lame with an infection in the ankle bones. While there is no guarantee that this therapy will always be successful, I am very pleased to see such amazing progression! Thank you, Dr. Shakir and Dr. Sharma for offering this service and for all the great work you have done for all of my animals!

Our indoor pets and my TNR colony are all clients at Melrose Park Animal Hospital. Animals are treated with skill, concern and compassion by both Dr. Shakir and Dr Sharma, and clients are treated with respect. Everyone on the staff loves animals and will treat your pet as if it is the best pet on earth. Both vets are real supporters of TNR efforts and have extensive experience with shelter work. This is a clinic which is a true part of the community and has a family feel. For great medical care at honest prices, this is definitely the place to go. My cats all give it 5 stars!
Hello pet owners - the rescue group I got my cats from recommended MPAH & I was so glad I asked! My usual vet that's closer to the city wanted my 11 year old Himalayan cat to get a dental cleaning, which because of his stage 3 kidney disease meant he needed to stay overnight before to get 24 hours of IV fluids. As much as I want to do everything to keep him healthy, I just couldn't handle the price after seeing the estimate.
After venting to the rescue group, several of them suggested I get a 2nd opinion from MPAH. So I sent over the itemized estimate to be sure we were all talking about the same procedures. Amazingly. MPAH could do the same things for almost 1/3rd the price! I guess being an independent vet practice has some benefits that a huge corporate chain with lots of overhead costs can't compete with.
Everyone at MPAH treated me & my cat with respect & kindness. And because they tried gas anesthesia first, they were able to do the dental with just that & not risk the extra workload IV anesthesia would have put on his weakened kidneys. I couldn't be happier with my experience. It was well worth driving a half hour out of my way. MPAH will definitely be handling all the dental care for my cats, maybe even more!
I recently brought my pet to Melrose Park Animal Hospital for her shots and spay surgery. I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff., found the prices to be very affordable and the level of care to be the best! Dr. Shakir and Dr. Sharma are truly dedicated to their profession and the welfare of the animals they care for. They are also very involved in helping stray animals find safe homes. I highly recommend these vets and will continue to bring my pets here.
